Yesterday, Frankfurt became home to the “Musical Labyrinth” installation by the renowned American architect Daniel Libeskind. In a new collaboration with Cosentino Group, leading producer and distributor of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, the architect unveiled his Dekton project yesterday in the plaza of Frankfurt’s Oper. The Cosentino Group attended the International Bathroom Exhibition as part of Milan Design Week 2016 (April 12th-17th). Cosentino displayed its innovative collection designed exclusively for bathrooms. Occurring biennially, this is an unmissable event for manufacturers and professionals in the bathroom industry.
The Cosentino Group also attended the International Bathroom Exhibition with the prestigious Canadian design studio Cecconi Simone. Cecconi Simone has created a spectacular stand that is over 1,290 sq. ft. (120 m2) for the Cosentino booth. The “Travel with Cosentino”, concept of the space symbolizes the internationalization of the Cosentino Group and the adaptability of its products to adapt to any country or climate.
Dektonhenge by Apparatu is an experimental project created by Xavier Mañosa, founder of design studio Apparatu. The project proposes a review of the origins of Dekton. Together with Cosentino’s R&D department, Mañosa puts the ultra-compact surface through a ductile and malleable process. Working with Dekton as a raw material, he explained the transformation of the material from its liquid to solid states, similar to the process for ceramics. The aim of the ceramist was to discover new ways of working with Dekton, to find out how versatile Dekton could be, and the different uses to which it could be subjected.
In the past, only clay, grass, cement, carpet and the latest-generation innovations such as synthetic astroturf were available. But 2016 heralds the arrival of a new and revolutionary surface for tennis, Dekton. The ultra-compact material made by Cosentino Group for the use in architecture and design makes its entrance into the world of tennis at the Mutua Madrid Open. It is the only combined ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and WTA Premier Mandatory event held in Europe. Read more
